"Despedida", or "farewell" in Portuguese, is an piece dedicated to the wonderful people that I met, was able to grow with and was able to call my friends during my years in college. Many of these friends were from Brazil or Ecuador which is why the piece has a brazilian bossa/samba feel. I learned so much and gained so many inspirations from learning about their cultures and where they were from. They shared their music with me as well, and that left a lasting impact on me. I only hope that someday I can have that effect for someone else one day.
